Hong Kong Int'l Sixes: Nepal suffers 43-run defeat against UAE

Nepal was defeated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 43 runs in today's match of the ongoing Hong Kong International Sixes Cricket Tournament in Hong Kong.

Nepal, chasing the target of 130 runs set by the UAE, were bowled out for 84 runs in 6 overs, losing 4 wickets.

Mohamad Adil Alam scored 32 and Sandeep Jora an unbeaten 31 runs for Nepal.

Earlier, UAE, who batted first, scored a total of 129 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 6 overs. Nilash Keswani scored the highest 73 runs and Zahid Ali added 30 runs for them.

Rashid Khan took two wickets while Rupesh Singh took one wicket for Nepal.

Nepal's journey in the ongoing competition has ended with this defeat.

Nepal was only able to defeat India in this tournament where 12 different teams are competing. Apart from that, Nepal was defeated in all the games. Nepal was defeated by Afghanistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Sharad Bheswakar announces retirement from international games

Nepali team member Sharad Bheswakar has retired from international cricket.

Bheswakar, who went to Hong Kong as the captain of the Nepal team for the Hong Kong International Sixes tournament, had previously informed that he would retire from the same tournament.

He had played cricket for over two decades for Nepal in international cricket, progressing from age-group teams to being a member of the national team.

Bheswakar made his debut for the senior national team in 2004 against the UAE. Before that, he had made his debut for the Nepal U-15 national team in 2002.

He was a key member when Nepal played the Cricket World Cup for the first time in 2014. Similarly, he was also in the team when Nepal received One Day International recognition in 2018.
