The government has recommended Surendra Labh Karna for appointment as the Chief of Madhesh Province. A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday evening recommended the President to appoint Karna, who is considered expert on Madhesh affairs, as the Chief of the Province, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel said.
The government has decided to give the responsibility to Karna, after dismissing the Madhesh Province Chief, Sumitra Bhandari Subedi, who made a controversial decision by appointing Saroj Kumar Yadav as the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province.
Karna will take charge as the Province Chief once President Ramchandra Paudel will endorse the recommendation made by the Council of Ministers.
Bhandari had appointed Yadav as the Chief Minister of Madhesh Province on Monday morning in haste. She appointed Yadav at the Panas Hotel in Bardibas, Mahottari, without calling for his claim to the Post and administered him the oath of office and secrecy. She said that she appointed Yadav in the capacity of as the largest party.
