The 'Pragatisheel Rastriya Abhiyan,' led by Janardan Sharma, has made public its 31-member Central Committee in Nepal. The campaign announced the formation of this central committee at a press conference organized at Sambad Dabali in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The members include Sudan Kiranti, Tekendra Bhatta, Narayani Sharma, Madan Bhattarai, Madan Limbu, Samjhana Rai, Pujan Singh, Arvind Yadav, Laxmi Purung, Prakash Chandra Pandey, Raju Alemagar, Santosh Bista, Prem Bahadur Tamang, Yagyaballabh Sharma, Kshitiz Sapkota, Baburam Nepali, Kismat Kumar BK, Sandeep Pun, Gehendra Dhakal, Bhim Bahadur Malla, Gorakh Bahadur KC, Jatil Karki, Deviram Devkota, Janmadev Jaisi, Dipak Saud, Pushpa Neupane, Dr Achyut Bhatta, Bimala Singh, Nirmala Gautam, Ramhari Pudasaini, and Dharmaraj Khatiwada.
Unveiling the central committee members, the Campaign asserts that the 'Gen Z rebellion' has led to the dissolution of Nepal's old parties, necessitating a fundamental restructuring of the country's entire political foundation.
During the press conference, Campaign leader Sudan Kiranti noted that the failed, egoistic leaders who fled in helicopters or hid in military barracks during the youth protests have shown no sign of transformation.
He stated that the people will answer in the upcoming election. Kirati urged the public to unite for the construction of a progressive political force that identifies and fundamentally restructures the problems in the overall political system, grounded in the people's desire to solve all of Nepal's long-term and short-term issues. He also called for the complete removal of the successful, unethical, and arrogant leaders—who have plunged the country into the quagmire of corruption and mismanagement—in the next election.
Kiranti disclosed that they had advocated within the Maoist Center for three years to establish democratic values, ensure party transparency, investigate assets, initiate the restructuring of the national economy, and transfer leadership to the youth with transformation.
He lamented that the party leadership ignored these agendas, including repeatedly setting and then disregarding the dates for the general convention. He concluded that their efforts to democratize, make accountable, and institutionalize the established party and movement were ultimately thwarted. The Campaign has also issued a 7-point appeal to the public.
