The Campaign to Save the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizens,” led by medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, which had announced an indefinite general strike starting today, has withdrawn the program.
The agreement was reached on Saturday during talks held at Baluwatar between the government and representatives of the Campaign.
Both sides agreed to continue dialogue in order to address the 27-point list of demands presented by the campaign, after holding detailed discussions on them.
According to the agreement document, the government expressed its commitment to remain continuously engaged in dialogue, discussion, and facilitation processes to address the issues raised by the campaign—placing the current peace and security situation and public concerns as the first priority.
From the Campaign’s side, the talks were attended by Secretary Premdeep Limbu, along with advocate Binod Mani Bhattarai, Lavan Nyaupane, and Dr. Nirajan Prasai.
Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, the Prime Minister’s chief advisor Ajaya Bhadra Khanal, and advisor Govinda Narayan Timilsina from the government’s side, among others, were present druing the meeting.
