Biratnagar Kings has defeated Janakpur Bolts by 9 runs in the 9th match of the Nepal Premier League held in Kirtipur on Monday.
Biratnagar restricted Janakpur to 126/9 runs while the latter was chasing the 136-run target.
To restrict the opponent from the reaching the target, Sandeep Lamichhane took the highest 4 wickets giving away only 11 runs followed by Surya Tamang with 2 wickets while Marchant de Lange and Shubham Ranjane claimed 1 wicket each for Biratnagar.

For Janakpur, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton scored the highest 41 runs including 2 fours and 1 six off 30 balls followed by Lahiru Milantha with 23 runs while Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Aasif Sheikh contributed 20 and 13 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday, Biratnagar notched up 135 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Shubham Ranjane scored the highest 37 runs including 2 fours and 2 sixes off 29 deliveries followed by Basir Ahamad with 36 runs while Lokesh Bam scored 28 runs.

Similarly, Martin Guptill and George Munsey contributed 13 and 10 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
On the bowling side, Sangeeth Cooray and Rupesh Singh took 2 wickets each while Aaditya Mahata grabbed 1 wicket for Janakpur.
Runners-up Sudurpaschim Royals and Karnali Yaks are locking their horns in the second match today.
