NPL 2025: Sudurpaschim storms to fourth straight win as Lumbini suffers third defeat

Sudurpaschim Royals has defeated Lumbini Lions by 7 wickets in the 13th match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) held in Kirtipur.

Chasing the 144-run target set by Lumbini, Sudurpaschim reached it in 18.2 overs losing 3 wickets.

Binod Bhandari topped the score with 69 runs including 5 fours and 4 sixes off 49 balls. Similarly, Aasif Sheikh and Chris Lynn scored 39 and 16 runs, respectively. The other batsmen could not reach double digit runs. 

On the bowling side, Ruben Trumpelmann, Abhishesh Gautam and Tilak Bhandari grabbed 1 wicket each for Lumbini.

Earlier, Lumbini, which was put to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, was all-out for 143 runs in 19.4 overs.

Captain Rohit Paudel top-scored with 35 while Dilip Nath contributed 31 runs to the team.

On the bowling side, Abhinash Bohora of Sudurpaschim took three wickets, Harmit Singh three wickets and Hemanta Dhami grabbed two wickets.

With this, Lumbini won only one match out of four matches while Sudurpaschim remains unbeaten with victories in the equal number of matches played so far.

The second match will be held at 4:00pm today between Janakpur Bolts and Pokhara Avengers.
