NPL 2025: Kathmandu cruises to a 53-run win against Chitwan

Kathmandu Gorkhas has defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 53 runs in the 15th match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) Second Season 2 held in Kirtipur.

Chitwan was bowled out for 89 runs in 17.2 overs while it was chasing the 143-run target set by Kathmandu. To restrict the opponent, Rashid Khan took the highest 3 wickets followed by Karan KC and Milind Kumar and Shahab Alam with 2 wickets each while Santosh Yadav took 1 wicket for the win of Kathmandu.

Dev Khanal and Ravi Bopara's 21-run each score was the highest for Chitwan followed by Sohil Tanvir with 18 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.

Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground on Friday, Kathmandu notched up 142 runs losing all wickets in 19.4 overs.

John Simpson topped the score with 60 runs including 3 fours and 5 sixes off 29 balls followed by Milind Kumar with 38 runs while Ben Charlesworth contributed 13 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve double digit runs.

In reply, Sohail Tanvir took the highest 4 wickets giving away 24 runs. Ranjit Kumar and Kamal Airee grabbed 2 wickets each while Ravi Bopara claimed 1 wicket for Chitwan Rhinos.
