The father of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah, Ram Narayan Shah, has passed away. He was 77.
Shah, who was admitted in an unconscious state to Civil Service Hospital in New Baneshwar on Sunday, passed away in the course of treatment on Monday morning.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki had also visited the hospital to asssess the condition of the ailing Shah.
He had been suffering from diabetes and urinary infections, according to the hospital sources. He was an Ayurvedic doctor by profession. He had served as the Managing Director for Singh Durbar Baidyakhana from 2058 BS to 2062 BS.
