The first General Convention of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is underway at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10, Chitwan.
RSP President Rabi Lamichhane and senior leader Balendra Shah jointly inaugurated the convention by ringing the bell, the election symbol of the party.
Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa, CPN-UML central committee member Pradip Gyawali, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden, Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut, Nepal Samajbadi Party Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Communist Party Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun, Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal Chairman, Upendra Yadav, among others are attending the convention.
RSP has claimed that around 40,000 leaders and cadres would be present in the general convention.
Despite the searing heat of Chitwan, leaders and cadres are participating in the event enthusiastically.
