Janakpur Bolts has clinched a first win in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) by defeating Chitwan Rhinos by 6 wickets in the 20th match held in Kirtipur.
Chasing the 176-run target set by the opponent, Janakpur Bolts reached it in 17.3 overs losing 4 wickets.
To reach the set target, Maaz Sadaqat topped the score with 63 runs including 6 fours and 4 sixes off 30 balls followed by Anil Sah with 61 runs.
Aasif Sheikh and Aaditya Mahata scored 18 runs each while Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton achieved 11 runs. Sanjay Krishnamurthi contributed 5 runs.
Sohail Tanvir, Kamal Airee and Amar Routela took 1 wicket each for Chitwan.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Chitwan notched up 176 runs losing 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Dawid Malan and Arjun Saud made a 132-run partnership to manage to set a significant target for the opponent. Malan scored the highest 80 runs followed by Saud with 52 runs while Kushal Malla contributed 30 not out runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
Maaz Sadaqat, Anil Sah, Rupesh Singh and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton grabbed 1 wicket each for Janakpur Bolts.
Organized by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), eight teams are competing in the league stage, each playing seven matches. The four highest-scoring teams will advance to the playoffs.
Sudurpaschim is atop the points tables with 10 points from five matches.
