Indian national killed in Lainchaur car accident

A person has died and two others sustained injuries in an EV car accident that occurred at Lainchaur near Keshar Mahal in Kathmandu this afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Indian national Sheikh Shakhir, SP Naresh Raj Subedi, the spokesperson for the Kathmadu Valley Traffic Police Office, told Nepalkhabar.

The injured are Parshu Ram Thakur, a traffic police head constable of the Durbar Marg Police Sector and the car driver Suresh Raj Kalika,66, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16.

Traffic police Thakur sustained injuries to his both legs and chest. He has been referred to Nepal Police Hospital after preliminary treatment at National Trauma Center.  

According to the police, the ill-fated EV car, Ba Pra 01-030 Cha 2348, hit an on-duty traffic police personnel and a pedestrian after it went out of control near Keshar Mahal at 3:10 pm.
