Education Science and Technology Minister Mahabir Pun has warned that grants will be stopped for schools that do not form school management committees.
Minister Pun has warned that funding will be withheld from municipalities that are operating schools arbitrarily and without forming the required management committees.
Minister Pun informed that he has directed the schools concerned to form a school management committee and added that names are being collected in the municipality that have not yet formed school management committees.
Minister Pun informed that he has issued a directive for the formation of School Management Committees (SMCs) in the respective schools. He noted that the municipality is now in the process of identifying and listing the schools that have not yet formed their SMCs.
Talking to Facebook, Minister Pun wrote, "There are municipalities that run schools arbitrarily without forming school management committees, and notices have been issued to such municipalities to immediately form school management committees as per the rules." Otherwise, federal grants to schools in such municipalities will be stopped.
