Kathmandu Gorkhas has set a 166-run target for Pokhara Avengers in the 23rd match of the Nepal Premier League, a franchise-based T20 cricket tournament, underway in Kirtipur.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Ground on Thursday, Kathmandu notched up 165 runs losing 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Ben Charlesworth topped the score with 64 runs including 5 fours and 2 sixes off 55 balls followed by Bhim Sarki with 55 runs. Sarki hit 5 fours and 4 sixes off 23 balls.

Similarly, Milind Kumar contributed 13 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significant runs.
In reply, Dhananjaya Lakshan took the highest 4 wickets giving away 16 runs followed by Kushal Bhurtel with 2 wickets while Bipin Khatri and Kiran Thagunna claimed 1 wicket each for Pokhara Avengers.
Kathmandu are in a relatively comfortable position with 8 points in 6 matches so far, while Pokhara are in a must-win situation to have any chances in the last four, as they have collected only 4 points in 5 matches. Kathmandu Gorkhas are in the second position in the points table while Pokhara Avengers remain in the 5th position.
A total of eight franchise-based teams are taking part in the second edition of the NPL, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal.
