Japanese Ambassador to Nepal MAEDA Toru has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of Nepal, Sushila Karki, in Singha Durbar on Friday.

The bilateral meeting, held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers this afternoon, focused on preparations for celebrating the 70th anniversary of Nepal–Japan diplomatic relations, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat said.

During the 30-minute long meeting, Japanese Ambassador MAEDA appreciated the government's determination to hold the elections within the stipulated time and stated that Japan is always ready to extend assistance as per the need of the Nepal government.

In response, Prime Minister Karki expressed hope for Japan’s continued support, acknowledging the longstanding assistance Japan has provided to Nepal in its development and various other sectors.
