Krishna Prasad Yadav sworn in as Madhesh Chief Minister

Newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Krishna Prasad Yadav, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

Province Chief Surendra Labh Karna administered the oath of office to Chief Minister Yadav amidst a ceremony held at the Office of the Province Chief in Janakpurdham a while ago.

After being sworn-in as the Chief Minister, Yadav informed journalists that he would take the vote of confidence on December 10.

A meeting of the seven-party alliance held on Sunday morning took a decision to this effect, Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal Chief Whip Ram Ashish Yadav told Nepalkhabar.

Yadav, who was appointed as the Chief Minister on December 5 in line with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, has formed a three-member Council of Ministers. Mahesh Yadav from Janamat Party has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance. Jangi Lal Yadav from Nepali Congress and Kanish Patel from CPN (Unified Socialist) have been appointed as the ministers without portfolio.

In the Madhesh Provincial Assembly, Nepali Congress is the second-largest party after UML. The Assembly comprises 25 members from UML, 22 from Nepali Congress, 19 from JSP Nepal, 13 from Janamat Party, 9 each from the CPN (Maoist Center) and Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), 7 from CPN (Unified Socialist), and 1 each from Nagarik Unmukti Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and Shanghiya Samajbadi Party.
