2,613 delegates to participate in UML's 11th Gen Convention

The work of updating the delegate list for the 11th General Convention of CPN (UML) has reached its final stage.

A team including Kashinath Adhikari, the head of the Organization Department of UML, and Secretary Madhav Dhungel are continuously working to update the delegate list.

Adhikari informed that a total of 2,613 people will participate in the General Convention. Out of this total, 2,154 delegates will be elected, while 108 will be nominated by the Central Committee. Adhikari shared that the total number of delegates, including the nominated ones, will be 2,262.

Three individuals who returned to the party from then CPN (Unified Socialist), have also applied to be delegates.

Similarly, Adhikari reported that the issues related to delegate selection in Dhankuta and Okhaldhunga districts have been resolved. The delegates from both districts have now been selected unanimously.

Adhikari further mentioned that efforts are underway to resolve complaints regarding delegate selection in three other districts. The Department said it will not issue cards to any delegate who does not meet the criteria. "We have verified more than 70 percent of the delegates," Adhikari said.

Other participants
In addition to the delegates, an additional 351 members will enter the hall during the closed session the General Convention as participants. These are members of the Advisory Council.

The Advisory Council has 376 members, out of which 25 members have been elected as delegates. In total, 2,613 people (delegates and participants) will attend the General Convention.

Identity cards 
According to the Department, the identity cards for the General Convention delegates are being printed. Seventy percent of the cards have been printed so far, according to the central office.

The central office stated that both the delegate selection and the card printing will be finalized by December 11.
