The Nepali Army and Indian Army have carried out a 14-day joint military training at Pithoragarh in India.
The joint military exercise titled 'Surya Kiran' had run from November 25 to December 8. This was the 19th edition of 'Surya Kiran', the Directorate of Public Relations of Nepali Army informed.
The Nepal-India joint military exercise has been taking place alternatively in in Nepal and India since 2067 BS. It was conducted in Nepal last year.
The joint training includes disaster management, counter insurgency, counter terrorism, jungle war-fare skills and, humanitarian assistance.
A team led by Lieutenant General Anup Jung Thapa participated on behalf of the Nepali Army for the exercise inspection.
The Nepali Army has been taking part in bilateral and multilateral exercises and professional competitions with the armies of the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Pakistan, India, and other countries with the aim of enhancing its capabilities in various areas.
The Nepali Army believes that such joint military exercises help strengthen friendly and cooperative relations among partner nations, while also contributing to the development of professional skills at all levels and fostering greater mutual understanding
