Police have arrested one of the four co-owners of the Goa nightclub, Birch by Romeo Lane, where a devastating fire on December 6 claimed the lives of 25 people, including five Nepali nationals.

The massive blaze broke out at the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, Goa, late on Saturday night, causing a massive loss of lives.

Co-owner apprehended in Delhi
According to Indian media reports, Ajay Gupta, one of the club's owners, was detained by police on Wednesday from his hometown in Delhi.

Goa Police are currently interrogating him at the Crime Branch Office, New Delhi. He is expected to be presented before the Saket Court later today.

Responding to media questions upon his detention, Gupta stated, "I am only a business partner. I don't know anything more than that."

Fugitive owners seek anticipatory bail
Meanwhile, two other owners of the club, brothers Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, have filed an application for anticipatory bail in the Rohini Court in Delhi. A hearing on their petition is anticipated today.

The two brothers reportedly fled Delhi for Thailand on December 7, just hours after the fire broke out. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a Blue Corner Notice against the duo to locate and track their movements.

A Look Out Circular (LOC) has also been issued against the fourth owner, Surinder Kumar Khosla, who is a British citizen.

The fire tragedy on Saturday night resulted in the deaths of 25 people, including five Nepali citizens, Indian authorities confirmed.
