Nepali Congress (NC) Tehrathum District Working Committee has unanimously recommended NC General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa as the candidate for the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5.
A joint meeting of the general convention representatives and the province convention representatives of the district held on Sunday unanimously endorsed Thapa as the first-past-the-post (FPTP) candidate for the HoR elections.
Similarly, the meeting has also recommended names of seven individuals for the HoR elections under the proportional representation category.
The individuals recommended for the HoR elections are Krishna Man Tumbahamphe from Myanglung Municipality-2, Bijaya Sambahamphe from Phedap Rural Municipality-3, Rudra Kandangwa from Aathrai Rural Municipality-5, Basanti Subba Gurung from Myanglung Muncipality-1 and Sharada Koirala from Myanglung-4 and Shanisha Bhetwal from Aathrai-6.
Tehrathum district has just one constituency for the House of Representatives.
