Nepali Congress leader and former minister Pradeep Paudel has emphasized that the party must contest the upcoming House of Representatives elections, scheduled for March 5, under a fresh leadership elected through the 15th General Convention.
Speaking at an interaction with journalists this morning, Paudel stressed that the party needs to revitalize itself with new policies that resonate with the "Gen Z" movement. Nepali Congress has officially scheduled its 15th General Convention for January 10–12 in Kathmandu.

Paudel stated that holding elections on the designated timeframe aligns with public sentiment and remains the party's top priority over parliament restoration.
He noted that Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba has already instructed leaders to ensure the convention happens on time, signaling a readiness to hand over leadership.
Reflecting on his narrow loss for the General Secretary post during the 14th General Convention, Paudel announced that he will contest for the General Secretary position once again in the upcoming 15th General Convention.
While acknowledging that the current convention schedule might require slight "practical adjustments," Paudel insisted that the transition of leadership must be completed before the country heads to the polls. He also urged the government to ensure a fair, free, and impartial election environment.
