Prime Minister Sushila Karki is going to participate in a discussion organized by President with the top leaders of the three major political parties.
At the initiative of President Ram Chandra Paudel, a meeting is being held with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. This marks the first time PM Karki will be holding such a meeting with them.
Karki, who became Prime Minister following the September 8-9 Gen Z uprising had not met with Deuba, Oli, or Prachanda until now. However, she has been maintaining a dialogue with the second and third-rung leaders of the three major parties.
PM Karki had been under fire from olitical leaders after she previously showed a reluctance to meet with top leaders of political parties. They have been arguing that a government unwilling to engage in dialogue with political parties will be unable to conduct the elections scheduled for March 5.
