Young man killed in Balaju bike-tipper collision

A young man lost his life after a tipper collided with a motorcycle in Balaju, Kathmandu, on Wednesday night. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson for the District Police Range, Kathmandu, another individual was critically injured in the accident.

The accident occurred at around 10:30 pm near the Baisdhara Temple in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16. A tipper with registration number Ba Pra-01-006 Kha 3454 struck a Pulsar motorcycle, Lu 59 Pa 7064.

The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Sagar Khadka, originally from Malarani Rural Municipality-5, Arghakhanchi, and currently residing in Basundhara, Kathmandu. He was rushed to the National Trauma Center for treatment but succumbed to his injuries at 11:15 pm, the police said.  Similarly, Laxman Raut, originally from Sandhikharka Municipality, Arghakhanchi, and currently residing in Balaju Height, is currently undergoing treatment at the TU Teaching Hospital.

Police report that Raut has sustained injuries to various parts of his body and is currently unable to speak due to his condition.

The driver of the tipper remains at large following the accident. However, the Balaju Police have taken the vehicle into custody and are carrying out investigation into the accident.
