More than 11 people were feared killed when a container truck hit a luxury sleeper bus at Chitradurga district in the Indian State of Karnataka on early Thursday morning, The Hundu reported.
The bus with 32 passengers were on board was heading to Gokarna when it got engulfed in fire after being struck by an oncoming cargo truck, the authorities said.
The bus driver escaped unhurt while the driver of the truck and its cleaner are among the killed.
The accident occurred due to the negligence of the truck driver on the highway, 48, connecting Bengaluru with Pune and Mumbai.
Acting on a tip-off, three fire-tenders had fanned out to the incident site and put out the fire, according to the reports.
