As 2025 draws to a close, TikTok has officially released its annual search report, providing a vibrant look at the trends, people, and traditions that defined the year for millions of Nepalis.
Far from just an entertainment app, the data reveals that TikTok has evolved into a vital "discovery tool" for everyday life in Nepal—used for everything from planning high-altitude treks to mastering traditional recipes like Sel Roti.
According to Umais Naveed, Content Operations Lead for South Asia at TikTok, the platform has become an essential real-time companion for the Nepali community.
Whether it was tracking the Nepal Premier League (NPL) or seeking Teej inspiration, the search data reflects a deep connection to local culture and practical decision-making. “People aren’t just watching videos — they’re actively seeking information, recommendations, and context in real time,” says Naveed.
