CPN (UML) has selected its candidates for the upcoming National Assembly elections. The list features a range of figures, from Ram Kumari Jhakri to Roshani Meche.
According to CPN (UML) Secretary Mahesh Basnet, the party has finalized the following candidates:
Ramkumari Jhakri
Roshani Meche
Prem Dangal
Samjhana Devkota
Meena Rakhal
Lila Bhandari
Secretary Basnet informed that candidates for Madhesh Province are the only ones yet to be finalized.
The election to fill 18 seats in the National Assembly is scheduled for January 25. UML, Nepali Congress, and Nepali Communist Party are trying to forge an electoral alliance and negotiating the allocation of seats.
The terms of 19 National Assembly members are set to expire on March 4.
While 19 seats will become vacant, elections are held for 18; the remaining one member is nominated by the President upon the government's recommendation.
Candidate nominations are being filed nationwide today, Wednesday. According to the Election Commission, the nominations can be filed from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
