Nepal suffered an 8-wicket defeat at the hands of Thailand in the Women's T20 World Cup Cricket Qualifiers in the match held at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday.
Chasing the 123-run target set by Nepal, Thailand reached it in 16.5 overs losing 2 wickets.
Natthakan Chantham topped the score with 57 runs including 9 fours and 1 six off 39 deliveries followed by Nannapat Koncharoenkai with 32 runs while Aphisara Suwanchonrathi contributed 28 runs. The other batsmen could not achieve significatn runs.
In reply, Sita Rana Magar took 2 wickets for Nepal.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Sunday morning, Nepal notched up 122 runs losing all wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Bindu Rawal topped the score with 44 runs followed by Sonu Khadka with 26 runs while Rubina Chhetry contribtued 17 runs. Similarly, Puja Mahato secured 12 runs.
On the bowling side, Thipatcha Putthawong took the highest 4 wickets followed by Onnicha Kamchomphu grabbed 2 wickets. Similarly, Chanida Sutthiruang, Suleeporn Laomi and Sunida Chaturongrattana claimed 1 wicket each.
