Five people have died and 13 others sustained injuries in a school bus accident that occurred in Dharan in Sunsari on Sunday afternoon.
The ill-fated bus, Ko 1 Kha 7119, which was coming to Dharan from Bhendetar, met with an accident at Zero Point in Dharan apparently due to brake failure, DSP Bhishan Rai, in-charge of Area Police Office Dharan, told Nepalkhabar.
A total of 18 employees were traveling in the bus belonging to Times International School, Janakpur, according to DSP Rai.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. The injured are undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan.
