As the Election Commission (EC) prepares for the House of Representatives (HoR) nomination filing on Tuesday, candidates must navigate a rigorous multi-step documentation process.
The EC has warned that even high-profile leaders will be barred from registering if their paperwork is incomplete.
According to the EC, candidates must submit nomination forms with proposers and seconders along with a photo-voter ID and an attested citizenship certificate.
While an official nomination letter signed by the party's authorized authority is necessary for party candidates, personal details and a self-declaration form for independent candidates. Candidates must formally declare they hold no office of profit and have no criminal convictions.
Besides, to ensure transparency, all candidates must submit a sealed envelope containing their property details at the time of filing and a bank deposit voucher or a cash receipt of Rs 10,000.
