In order to ensure free, fair and fearless environment for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections, all four security agencies are being mobilized under the coordination of the Nepal Army (NA) from today in accordance with the Integrated Security Plan, 2082.

The government has already approved and brought into effect the HoR Member Election Integrated Security Plan, 2082 to ensure security during the election.

The army is preparing to mobilize 80,000 personnel in view of the upcoming March 5 elections. Army spokesperson Basnet informed that the army will be mobilized in all 165 electoral constituencies for election security purposes from Wednesday as per the Integrated Security Plan 2082 approved by the President on November 27, 2025.

The 'election police' recruited for election purpose as per the integrated security plan are also to be mobilized for poll security.

The Nepal Police and Election Police will provide security in the interior circuit of the polling station. The Armed Police Force will be responsible for second layer security in coordination with the Nepal Army and Nepal Police.

Likewise, the Nepal Army will take up crucial security responsibility in the outer layer of the security circuit.

In the upcoming elections, 3,406 candidates are contesting the elections. The Election Commission has enforced the Election Code of Conduct since January 18. For this cycle, a total of 18,903,689 voters are registered, comprising 9,240,131 women, 9,663,358 men, and 200 individuals identified as others.

To facilitate the voting process, 23,112 polling centers have been established across 10,967 polling stations nationwide. Regarding security, 77,000 personnel from the Nepal Police will be deployed. Since the existing police force is insufficient for full election management, an additional 133,000 temporary "Election Police" have been recruited. Security arrangements have been tailored by classifying constituencies as highly sensitive, sensitive, or normal.

Specifically, 2,845 polling stations are categorized as normal, 4,442 as sensitive, and 3,680 as highly sensitive. The police have confirmed that security measures in these areas have already been strengthened through regular patrols and deployment.

Furthermore, the Armed Police Force (APF) will deploy a total of 49,686 personnel, consisting of 34,576 regular officials and 15,110 "Election Police." The APF stated that high alertness is being maintained to prevent any untoward incidents, with units positioned to reach any site within 10 minutes if an emergency arises.
