President of Nepali Congress (NC), Gagan Kumar Thapa, who has filed his candidacy in the election to the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Sarlahi Constituency No 4, has said that he is running from Sarlahi to understand Madhesh from Kathmandu and vice-versa.

During an interaction programme held today with voters of Sarlahi Constituency-4, who reside in Gokarneshwar Municipality and are engaged in various trades, businesses, and professions, NC President Thapa said he has filed his candidacy to connect Madhesh and Kathmandu.

"Now I am the Party President; I felt that one cannot lead the nation without understanding Madhesh. Hence, I came to Madhesh. Just as Kathmandu has superficially recognized Madhesh, I will make Kathmandu understand the importance of Madhesh in the next five years," he said on the occasion.

He also expressed confidence that gradually problems will decrease as he works on education, health, and entrepreneurship by utilizing his knowledge and network raising the genuine voices of the Tarai people.
