At least four killed, six injured after Ramechhap-bound bus meets with accident near Manthali

At least four people died and six others sustained injuries after a bus heading to Ramechhap from Kathmandu met with an accident near Manthali on Tuesday morning.

The ill-fated bus belonging to Araniko Yatayat skidded off the road and plunged into the Tamakoshi River while it was heading to Manthali from Kurkot. The accident site lies in Manthali Municipality, some three kilometers from Khurkot, the police said.

"The bus skidded off the Khurkot-Manthali road section and fell into the Tamakoshi River from Lilauti cliff," Police Inspector Rajan Adhikari, who is currently at the accident site, the spokesman of District Police Office, Ramechhap, told Nepalkhabar, "The bus has submerged into the Tamakoshi River." We have rescued six injured from the accident site and sent them to the hospital. Four bodies have been found at the accident site. We were informed that 13 passengers were traveling in the bus."

Some passengers have managed to save their lives by swimming.

It is not still clear how many passengers were traveling in the bus. The details of the accident are yet to come.
