National Assembly session to end on Feb 13

The ongoing session of the National Assembly is going to be prorogued starting February 13.

President Ramchandra Paudel has announced the prorogation of the session on the recommendation of the government, Ritesh Kumar Shakya, the spokesperson of the Office of the President informed.

The government on February 9 had recommended the President to prorogue the NA session.

"Honorable President Ramchandra Paudel has announced the prorogation of the ongoing session of the National Assembly starting Friday midnight (February 13) in accordance with Article 93 (2) of the Constitution and on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers made on February 9, 2026," reads a press note issued by the Office of the President on Thursday.

The session of the National Assembly had commenced on January 18.
