A scooter driver has died after being hit by a tipper in Banepa Municipality in Kavre on Wednesday morning.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established, said the District Police Office, Kavre.
The tipper, Bagmati Province 01-004 Ka 3423, struck the scooter, Bagmati Province, 02-063 Pa 9189, along the Arniko Highway near the telecommunications office in Banepa this morning.
Locals have staged a demonstration demanding due action against the guilty and compensation for the family of the deceased. Banepa has been tense after the locals set the tipper ablaze. The tipper driver has been at large.
As a result, transportation along the Arniko Highway has been disrupted.
