A Buddha Air plane carrying 30 people from Biratnagar Airport to Kathmandu on Wednesday evening made an emergency landing after experiencing a technical glitch.
Buddha Air flight number '714' ANQ was forced to return to Biratnagar after experiencing a technical malfunction shortly after takeoff.
According to airport sources, the emergency landing was made in Biratnagar after the captain noticed a problem with the plane 23 minutes after takeoff.
Buddha Air stated that the plane was held in the skies around Biratnagar for some time after experiencing a technical fault and landed safely.
Although the captain declared an emergency based on his own discretion and assessing the safety situation, it is said that the plane was landed as normal with the help of a single engine. All safety standards were followed while landing the plane.
After the incident, four of the 30 passengers canceled their trip citing delays, while the remaining 26 were sent to Kathmandu on another Buddha Air flight that evening.
An investigation team from Kathmandu is preparing to go to Biratnagar for a technical investigation.
A detailed study is currently underway on the technical aspects of the plane.
