Nepali Embassy in Washington DC has urged the United States Department of State to investigate the case of vandalism and robbery taken place recently.
The US Department of State has taken the request positively, informed Kumar Raj Kharel, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy in Washington DC.
"We have requested the US Department of State to look into the incident."The Department has assured us of investigation," Kharel told Nepalkhabar over the telephone.
Meanwhile, Houston City Police has also assured the Nepali Embassy that it will help probe into the case.
From December 15 to 20, the Nepali Embassy organized consular service camps in Dallas, Austin, and Houston City in Texas. Service seekers had submitted money orders and cashier's checks to the Embassy for the fee.
The money orders and cashier's checks had been looted by breaking down the parked vehicle on December 22 while the staffers were heading to Washington DC from Houston.
According to a press note issued by the Embassy, the robbery took place at 12:03 pm (according to local time).
