Swiss woman held at TIA with undisclosed foreign currencies

Police have arrested a Swiss woman with illegal cash from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Police said that Swiss citizen Kunchok Khandro was arrested while she was about to leave for China from the departure hold baggage check-in area for an international flight.

Police said that she was arrested with US $10,500, Euro 26,700, Chinese Yuan 7,400 and Swedish currency 43,000.

Police deployed from the TIA Security Office arrested her while she was about to leave for China via a Sichuan Airlines flight.

Police said that a large amount of foreign currency was found in her bag during a search.

Police said that she has been sent to the Revenue Investigation Department, Harihar Bhawan, Pulchowk for necessary investigation and action.
