I will make report public and quit premiership soon: PM Karki

Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that she will hand over power once a new government is formed following today's polls.

After casting her vote, she said, "We will hand over power soon because the youths have high expectations from the new government.", "We will hand over power soon because the youths have high expectations from the new government."

She said this in an interview with BBC Nepali.

According to the latest data from the Election Commission, about 40 percent of the total voters in this election were youth aged between 18 to 35.

The Prime Minister also informed that preparations are underway to disclose the remaining reports, including those of the inquiry commission. "Now we will receive the report and make it public at the earliest. We will do these works during this period," she clarified.

A high-level inquiry commission was formed under the leadership of former Special Court Chairman and former Judge Gauri Bahadur Karki to investigate the incidents that took place during the Gen Z movement on September 9 and 10. The term of the commission, which has been extended for the third time, ends on March 11.
