RSP continues leading in PR votes, inches closer to 5 million

The counting of votes cast under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections is underway.

As of 9:25 am today, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has so far won 125 seats, is also leading in the PR vote counts with a wide margin. Out total 10,370,628 votes counted so far, the party has secured 4,980,591 votes. Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) has achieved 1,686,438 while the CPN (UML) garnered 1,402,940 and Nepali Communist Party got 764,311. Shram Sanskriti Party has collected 350,841 and Rastriya Prajatantra Party achieved 323,892 votes. As per the EC updates, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal secured 170,753 votes, Rastriya Pariwartan Party 166,116. The votes secured by other parties have not yet reached the 100,000-mark.

Toward the direct electoral counts, NC has won 18 seats, UML in nine, NCP in eight, Shram Sanskriti in three, RPP and an independent candidate one seat each.
