According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nepal is currently under the partial influence of a westerly wind, a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern region. Due to this reason, at this time (Tuesday morning), the hilly and mountainous regions are generally cloudy, while the rest of the country is partially cloudy.
According to the MFD, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country in the afternoon. There is a possibility of light rain/snowfall with thunder/lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and one or two places in the Terai regions of Karnali Province and Lumbini Province.
Meanwhile, meteorologist Saroj Pudasaini of the division informed that there is a possibility of light rain in the Kathmandu Valley this afternoon as well.
"There is a possibility of light rain in the Kathmandu Valley after 12:00 pm,’ he told Nepalkhabar around 8:30 am on Tuesday. At this time, the sky in the Kathmandu Valley is also covered with clouds. There is also a mist."
According to meteorologist Pudasaini, there is no possibility of clear weather in the Kathmandu Valley throughout the day today.
According to the Division, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of the country including Gandaki and Lumbini provinces tonight as well, while it will be partially cloudy in the remaining places.
Similarly, there is a possibility of light rain/snowfall with thunder/lightning in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
