RSP crosses 5-mln mark in PR votes followed by NC with 1.7 mln

The counting of votes cast under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives (HoR) elections is underway.

As of 13:30 am today, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has so far won 125 seats, is also leading in the PR vote counts with a wide margin. Out total 10,487,227 votes counted so far, the party has secured 5,031,926 votes. Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) has achieved 1,704,250 while the CPN (UML) garnered 1,919,301 and Nepali Communist Party got 774,373. Shram Sanskriti Party has collected 360,275 and Rastriya Prajatantra Party achieved 326,115 votes. As per the EC updates, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal secured 172,939 votes, Rastriya Pariwartan Party 166,893. The votes secured by other parties have not yet reached the 100,000-mark.

Toward the direct electoral counts, NC has won 18 seats, UML 9, NCP 7, Shram Sanskriti 3, RPP and an independent candidate Mahabir Pun secured 1 seat each.
