It has been revealed that all the deceased in the road accident in Gorkha on Saturday night were Indian citizens.
Seven people died when a microbus, Ba. Pra. 006 Kha 8430, carrying passengers from Manakamana pilgrimage crashed in Kantar, Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha last night.
According to Bharat Bahadur BK, Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Gorkha, seven others were seriously injured in the accident.
Of the 14 people on board the microbus, seven died on the spot and all of them were Indian citizens, BK said. The deceased are 5 men and 2 women. The seven injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals.
Police said that the vehicle went out of control and fell about 200 meters off the road. Except for the driver and co-driver, all of the passengers are Indian citizens. The deceased are yet to be identified.
Immediately after the accident, an Armed Police Force team from Armed Police Force Nepal (29 Gulma), Gorkha was deployed for rescue. Similarly, a team from the District Police Office, Gorkha was also deployed for rescue.
The body has been sent to the hospital for postmortem. Police said further investigation into the accident is underway.
