NC selects 15 women and 5 men for PR MPs

Nepali Congress (NC) has selected 20 individuals from its proportional representation (PR) closed list and is preparing to submit the names to the Election Commission today.

A Central Work Execution Committee (CWEC) meeting of Nepali Congress held in Sanepa on Sunday afternoon decided to submit names of 15 women and 5 men to the Commission. Similarly, five men who are atop of the list of their respective clusters are likely to be selected as MPs.

According to Devraj Chalise, the spokesperson of the party, six individuals each from Adivasi and Khas-Arya and three individuals each from Dalit and Madhesi will be submitted to the Commission.

Similarly, NC will submit one representative each from the Muslim and Tharu communities, along with one individual from Khas-Arya cluster representing a backward region.

The names of PR MPs submitted by NC will be made public by the Commission itself, Chalise said.
