The Supreme Court (SC) is set to hear the writ petition against the decision to withdraw the money laundering and organized crime cases against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane for coming Thursday.

The hearing on the cases had started before the divisional bench of Justice duo, Saranga Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel since last Sunday.

As the hearing could not be completed today either, apex court spokesperson Arjun Prasad Koirala informed that the hearing would take place soon on March 19 (Thursday).

Earlier, the divisional bench of Supreme Court Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Shrikanta Paudel had ordered the petition be scheduled for regular hearing on March 15.

It may be noted that Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral had decided to withdraw the cases of money laundering and organized crime filed against Lamichhane during the erstwhile government’s tenure.

Against the decision, Yubaraj Paudel, senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, and advocate Abhas Regmi had filed separate writ petitions in the Supreme Court.
