Four killed in Palpa tipper accident

Four people have died in a tipper accident that occurred in Palpa on Saturday night.

Three people died on the spot and the other died in the course of treatment in the accident that took place at Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-7, Rahbas, according to DSP Hom Prakash Chaudhary of the District Police Office, Palpa.

The deceased have been identified as Rajan Chidi, 33, of Patuwa, Tansen Municipality-10, driver Chinta Bahadur Sunar, 26, of Siddhara, Sheetganga-4, Arghakhanchi, Sunil BK, 26, of the same place, and Sunil Nepali, 26, of Khaireni, Devdaha-2, Rupandehi.

According to DSP Hom Prakash Chaudhary, the empty tipper, Lu 2 Kha 4525, fell some 100 meters off the road while heading to the Chundhunga mine from Jhadeva in Rahbas on yesterday evening.

“Three people died on the spot and the other day died during treatment at Lumbini Medical College Prabhas in Tansen,” Chaudhary said.

Police have said that Rajan Chidi, 33, of Tansen-10 Patuwa, who sustained critical injuries, died during treatment.

Chaudhary said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
