Search underway as Mustang Air chopper with five people on board goes missing

A Mustang Air helicopter with five people on board has gone missing in the Laptcha area of Dolakha district, the officials said.  

The helicopter, with Call 9N-ANO, went out of contact in the Laptcha area at 1:30 pm, Gyanendra Bhul, information officer for the Civial Aviation Authority, Nepal, told Nepalkhabar.

"The chopper went out of contanct at 1:30 pm while it was flying to Laptcha from Charikot, approximately 34 kilometers southeast of Langtang Valley in Rasuwa," said Bhul. 

The helicopter had departed from Charikot at 12:17 pm. Captain Suraj Thapa was flying the chopper, CAAN said.
