Former Prime Minister KP Oli arrested (with video)

Former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has been arrested.

He was arrested from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur a while ago.

The police arrested him from his residence and took him to the District Police Office, Kathmandu.

Police were deployed in Gundu overnight to arrest Oli, who is also the UML chairman. Oli was taken away in the same police vehicle.

The police arrested Oli after arresting former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.

While the police were preparing for the arrest, there was widespread sloganeering in support of Oli in Gundu. Leaders including National Assembly member Ram Kumari Jhakri are currently in Gundu.

The first cabinet meeting convened after Balendra Shah (Balen) assumed office as Prime Minister had decided to immediately implement the report of the Inquiry Commission formed to investigate the Gen Z uprising.

The Balen government was preparing to take immediate action against the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and three others.

The government had decided to send a letter to the concerned body to implement the report in the case of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi and the then Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Chhabi Rijal.

Accordingly, the police arrested Oli after completing all the procedures. Earlier, the police also arrested Lekhak this morning.
