Lekhak held at Police Battalion-2; Oli’s placement awaits medical results

The day after the formation of the government led by senior leader of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah (Balen), the police have arrested the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak on charges of violently suppressing Gen Z movement.

On the instructions of Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, the police arrested UML Chairman Oli from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur on Saturday morning and took him to the District Police Range, Kathmandu. He has now been taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for a health check-up.

Oli has been kept in bed number 27 of the 'Red Zone' of the Teaching Hospital. Special and complex patients are kept in the Red Zone.

After the health check-up, the decision will be made on where to keep former Prime Minister Oli, SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, told Nepalkhabar.

NC leader Lekhak, who was arrested from his house in Katunje, Bhaktapur on Saturday morning, has been kept in the Battalion 2 of the Maharajgunj Police.

After undergoing a health check-up at Kantipur Hospital in Tinkune, the former Home Minister was taken to Battalion 2 by the police.
