Former Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka has been arrested.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has taken him into custody.

Khadka, who is also an NC leader, was arrested by the police from Budhanilkantha on Sunday morning.

CIB spokesperson SSP Shiva Kumar Shrestha told Nepalkhabar that Khadka was arrested in a money laundering case.

The Money Laundering Investigation Department had sent a letter to the Police Headquarters to investigate Khadka. The CIB has stated that Khadka was taken into custody for investigation on that basis.

Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak were arrested on Saturday alone.

They were arrested by the police on charges of suppressing youths during the Gen Z movement on September 8-9, last year, leading to their deaths.
