Former Minister Deepak Khadka, who was arrested in a money laundering case, has been admitted to the hospital.
Former Minister Khadka was admitted to the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj on Monday morning. Teaching Hospital has stated that he was admitted to the hospital after he developed health problems.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Khadka on Sunday morning. He was produced before the District Court, Kathmandu on Sunday itself.
The District Court has granted permission to keep him in custody for seven days. The court had said, ‘Since the behavior of seeking permission appears to be unreasonable, permission has been granted to keep the defendant Deepak Khadka in custody for seven days with effect from March 29 as per Section 17 (4) of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2064 BS.’
Khadka’s house was set on fire on September 9 during the Gen Z movement. During that time, some notes were found in a movable condition. Police have said they have arrested him to investigate whether he was involved in money laundering case.
