Nepali Congress leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has suggested that the newly elected members of the National Assembly and the House of Representatives should regularly consult with senior leaders and experts to play an effective role in the parliament.
Speaking at a program organized to congratulate the newly elected members of parliament at Smart Hotel in Dhumbarahi on Monday, leader Koirala said that there is a need for in-depth study and discussion on various topics and issues that will come up in the parliament.
Stating that there are not many senior and old members of parliament this time, Koirala urged the newly elected MPs to benefit from their experience.
Recalling that Nepali Congress has been organizing such programs for a long time, he also wished the newly elected members a successful tenure.
He said, “We are many friends outside the parliament this time. You should also pay attention to that and think about how to go to the parliament, what to do. Many old friends, even older friends than me, senior friends are here. Please consult with them and us so that many issues come up in Parliament. We are ready to discuss with experts and specialists if you need to."
Ten MPs including Bishnu Khadka, Rina Upreti KC, Ganga Lakshmi Awal, Sita Thapaliya, (Urmila), Rukmini Koirala, Ninu Karna, Harina Debi Kami, Sushila Dhakal, Gita Sendang, Tek Bahadur Gurung among other leaders and cadres were present in the meeting.
